Randy Overbeck: Author "Teachers, The Real American Heros"

Dr. Overbeck is a veteran educator who has served children as a middle and high school teacher, a college professor and a school leader. For four decades, he has had the privilege to work with hundreds of talented, dedicated teachers in seven different school districts. He has recently retired as Assistant Superintendent of Xenia Community Schools (Ohio) after leading that district through fourteen consecutive years of academic improvement, moving the district from Academic Emergency in 2000 to a District of Excellence in 2008. His educational expertise and professional knowledge has earned statewide and national recognition including the national “Teacher Leader Award” from the Reading Recovery Council of North America. A speaker in much demand, Dr. Overbeck’s speaking experiences run the gamut from serving as a keynote speaker at a national convention to a panel member at a national literacy institute. An accomplished writer, he has been published in trade journals, professional texts and newspapers.
